Mumbai police released a suspect whom they had detained earlier in Saif Ali Khan’s attack case, as per a report in The Indian Express. The actor sustained injuries after he was stabbed six times at his Mumbai home on Thursday. The person detained was earlier brought to Bandra police station in Mumbai for questioning.

The publication quoted the police as saying, “The person brought to Bandra police station for questioning is not related to the Saif Ali Khan attack case. No one is detained in the Saif Ali Khan attack case of now.”

The attack took place at around midnight when Saif heard a scuffle in his son Jeh’s room and intervened. He was attacked by the intruder with a knife but Saif and Jeh’s nanny managed to overpower him, locking him in the room. However, he soon escaped and was caught in the CCTV camera in the building.

Saif sustained two sever injuries and a 2.5-inch knife piece was removed from his spine during the surgery. The doctors informed PTI on Thursday that his surgery was done and the actor was on the way of recovery.
